Urbanco has announced a new apprenticeship program with enrolment for 100 participants.
The program aims to provide academic, technical and vocational training on a variety of fields that are tied to Urbanco’s business activities. The first apprenticeship program of the company dates back to 2016, and was launched with the aim of fostering the next generation of career-oriented professionals.
Urbanco’s program also comes under its wider corporate social responsibility (CSR) umbrella along with its organizational objectives of empowering the youth, and provide them with professional career development opportunities.
The 100 slots for this year’s apprenticeship program is focused on 12 fields while Urbanco promises on the job experience.

The apprenticeship program is catered towards youths aged between 18 and 30 years. Urbanco further claimed that youths of the eligible age group with O’Level academic completion or possession of an MQA Level 2 certification will receive top consideration in selection.
The program will run with theoretical and practical sessions.
Completion of the apprenticeship will grant each participant with an MQA Level 3 certification.
Urbanco further confirmed the program will run for a 6-month duration while participants will receive a monthly allowance of MVR6,000 for the duration of the program. The top achievers of the program will receive job opportunities from the corporation depending on vacancy, Urbanco said.
Interested applicants must fill the relevant form and submit it before 14:00hrs on May 14, 2023.
