Corinthia to operate new resort in the Maldives

Corinthia has signed a hotel management agreement with resort developer Marah Private Limited, to operate a luxury resort in the Maldives.

The developer, Maarah Pvt Ltd is a Maldivian company affiliated by United Arab Emirate’s Maarah Holdings Ltd, which is registered within the Dubai International Financial Center.

Maarah Holdings is part of the Niro Investment Group, which is an investment company from Romania that is currently expanding its international operations in the Middle East and South Asia.

The early works on reclamation and the first phase of the property’s development are currently ongoing. The resort, a 15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport (VIA) is located in Male’ atoll.

The property will feature two islands, one hosting a 73-key resort on the larger island of the two, and the second, a smaller private island for exclusive use.

The resort, titled ‘Corinthia Maldives’ is set for a late 2025 opening, and will feature aquatic-inspired architecture designed by HKS.

Reports also state that the resort’s main pavilion and the villas, all will be developed in the forms and shapes inspired from the manta ray.

Besides aquatic-themed aesthetics, the resort will feature state-of-the-art wellness facilities, multiple fitness spaces, and five restaurants to choose from that will be operated by internationally renowned brands.
