Imports drop 4%, exports go up by 4% in April

The total imports, including fuel, decreased by 4% in April 2023, reported the Maldives Customs Service.

The Maldives imported a total of MVR4.5 billion of commodities, including fuel in the review month. On the other hand, imports excluding fuel went up by 19%, and registered a total of MVR3.7 billion.

The royalties earned by the authority in April stood at MVR2.2 million while customs revenue stood at MVR305 million, registering a 16% decline.

Despite a decline in imports, and customs revenue, the total exports saw a 4% increase and stood at a total of MVR193 million.
