Unilever Food Solutions debuts “Chefs Table”

Unilever Food Solutions has announced the launch of “Chefs Table”, a new initiative with the promise to revolutionize the culinary landscape of the Maldives.

Unilever held its inaugural edition of the event at Kurumba Maldives in collaboration with the International Food Solution Pvt Ltd (IFS) on October 26, 2023.

The event brought together the greatest and brightest minds and tastemakers in the Maldivian culinary community.

“Chefs Table is a new initiative that we have created to bring together chef communities in the Maldives. We aim to provide a platform for leading on-trend chefs in the Maldives region to share their insights, experiences, and expertise with the broader chef community,” said Hadia Shahdad, the Marketing Manager for Arabia and the Indian Ocean Islands at Unilever Food Solutions.

“This is just the beginning of the journey. We hope to have more events, both offline and online, on our digital platforms. ‘Chefs Table’ is our way of uniting the Maldives’ chef community,” she added.

The event featured a panel discussion, where four renowned Chefs Table committee members discussed their challenges in the kitchen and the strategies they employ in training their workforce.

Additionally, Unilever shared the Future Menus Trends Report 2023 which is a “culmination of extensive research and culinary expertise” that highlights emerging trends in the food service market.

Chef Joanne Limoanco Gendrano, the Executive Chef of Unilever Food Solutions said, “Incorporating low waste in the kitchen can be one of the most challenging trends, as it demands chefs to invest more time and discipline in researching, experimenting, and educating our teams to develop a whole new approach to our usual practices”.

Unilever Food Solutions said that its “Chefs Table” will be an annual event, that will bring culinary experts together to ensure the ongoing celebration of culinary innovation and exchange of ideas, techniques and trends in gastronomy in the Maldives.
