Velaa Private Island tops in service charge disbursement, Ritz-Carlton in second

As per local reports, Velaa Private Island has topped the list of over 150 operational resort properties in the Maldives in terms of service charge disbursement for the month of January 2024.

According to Resort Workers Maldives, a Facebook page dedicated in providing the latest information in the Maldivian hospitality and tourism industry, the private island property disbursed USD 4,693.05 (MVR 72,366.83) to each of its employees.

The Ritz-Carlton came in second place, closely following Velaa Private Island with a disbursement of USD 4,282.07 (MVR 66,029.52) per employee. Cheval Blanc Randheli came third with a disbursement of USD 3,525.49 (MVR 54,363.06).

Among the properties listed in the Resort Workers Maldives website, the lowest service charge disbursements were observed from Club Med Finolhu and Nika Island at USD 570.00 and USD 396.00 respectively.
