Watermelon observes major import flux, eggs and onion at top

According to the most recent statistics from Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), imports of watermelon has observed a notable surge ahead of the Islamic sacred month of Ramadan.

While eggs and onion are the most in demand commodity with 12,990 packages and 11,240 packages respectively imported between February 9 and 15, 2024, watermelon is the third most imported commodity with 6,640 packages.

Potato is the fourth most in-demand perishable commodity with 4,639 packages imported during the review period. Tomato is the fifth most imported commodity in the review period with 3,150 packages cleared by the commercial harbor.
