Velana International Airport (VIA) has announced its nomination in the 2024 edition of the World Travel Awards.
The airport’s official social media handles confirmed VIA has been nominated in the prestigious ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airport 2024’ category at the WTA 2024.
With voting currently open, VIA requests kind voters to caste their decision to make the main international air gateway of the Maldives achieve this accolade.
VIA is the busiest airport in the Maldives, observing over a million travelers per annum since the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The airport reports an average of 600 to 800 flight landings annually since the pandemic ended.
