State Electric Company (STELCO) on Saturday revealed that it would provide discounts to the customers who paid their utility bills before the company extended discounts.
STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy said on X, the company will reflect the difference in amount after calculating the discount, on the utility bills for the following month for customers who already paid their utility bills, before the company officially extended the discount.
The utility provider has since rescinded all the utility bills that were issued to customers for the month of Ramadan, owing to the hike in charges. Fahmy assured the renewed bills, reflecting the discounted amount would be sent to customers by Saturday evening.
Fahmy said STELCO has extended discounts to water and electricity, aligned with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge. He confirmed discounts will be provided to the utility bills for April, which coincided with the last days of Ramadan, and to the more recently prepared utility bills as well.
