Maldivian Artist Shimhaq Shines with ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ Poster

Maldivian digital artist Ali Shimhaq has catapulted himself onto the global stage following the release of a poster he designed for the movie ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ by 20th Century Fox.

20th Century Studios, Inc., the film’s distributor, is an American film studio owned by Walt Disney Studios. Their account, followed by 4.7 million people on X, unveiled the poster yesterday to promote the movie. Additionally, the official X account of the movie also featured Shimhaq’s poster.

Shimhaq creates content for the international firm ‘Poster Posse,’ which specializes in designing posters for top production houses. This opportunity to design a poster for the movie was afforded to him by that firm.

Shimhaq had previously been in the limelight when he sued American singer Aaron Carter for using his works.

Maldivians are celebrating this achievement as a significant milestone for the island nation, marking their involvement with one of Hollywood’s largest studios.

The science fiction action movie, directed by Wes Ball, was produced on a budget of 157 million USD and is currently screening in cinemas worldwide. Set 300 years after the events of War, the movie follows a young chimpanzee named Noa, who embarks on a journey alongside a human woman named Mae to determine the future for both apes and humans.
