CWEIC to establish Maldives office, President’s Principal Advisor as Chair

The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) has announced its decision to establish a country office in the Maldives.

With the announcement made on Thursday, CWEIC also said that it intends to appoint Mr. Mohamed Ali Janah, a prominent businessman and the Principal Advisor to Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, as the Country Chair.

CWEIC said that its country office in the Maldives will establish corporate relationships between the Maldives government and international investors, and businesses.

It added the office will be instrumental in seeking investment opportunities from all 56-member states of the Commonwealth. The office also aims on strengthening strategic alliances and partnerships between the island nation and Commonwealth states.
