In a significant move to bolster the prospects of Maldivian small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has engaged in important discussions with the newly appointed Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mr. Masood Imad.

The meeting, attended by BCC’s Managing Director and senior management, underscores the organization’s commitment to fostering international opportunities for local businesses.

The discussions primarily revolved around the potential establishment of an “Authentic Maldives” store in Sri Lanka. This venture promises to enhance bilateral trade and cultural exchange between the two nations, creating new avenues for Maldivian SMEs to thrive both locally and internationally.

During the meeting, plans were made to organize and participate in trade fairs in Sri Lanka. These events will provide local businesses with platforms to showcase their products and services to a wider audience, promoting greater market exposure and business growth.

The conversation also addressed the various forms of assistance required by businesses, highlighting the collaborative efforts needed to support diverse fields. Both parties expressed a commitment to working closely together to facilitate these opportunities and provide the necessary support to ensure their success.

BCC, a government-owned corporation dedicated to promoting SMEs, is steadfast in its mission to offer technical assistance and open up new markets for Maldivian businesses.
