Visit Maldives named official Destination Partner for ASWC 2024

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) on Wednesday, announced its participation as the official destination partner of the 7th edition of the Air Services World Congress (ASWC) 2024.

The announcement was made during an event held at the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal of Velana International Airport (VIA). The event saw participation from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, and deputy managing directors, senior management, and partners.

The highly anticipated ASWC 2024 is scheduled to take place from July 09 to 11 at Kurumba Maldives, with an estimated 300 delegates from various regions globally.

The 2024 edition of the ASWC is set to be the first aviation route development event in the Maldives, which will bring together international delegates for face-to-face discussions about the future of the aviation sector on one platform.

Speaking at the event, Shareef said, “President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has prioritized the development of Velana International Airport with a visionary masterplan and this plan will drive national prosperity through aviation development, congruent with the growth of our tourism sector.”

“Velana International Airport will be at the core of this transformation, expanding alongside our booming economy. This expansion will attract more connections between Velana and the world.”

As the official destination partner, Visit Maldives’ collaboration with the ASWC 2024 reinforces the dedication of the Maldives tourism board to promote the island nation as a top-tier travel destination and a strategic partner in the global aviation sector.
