PSG Football Legend Jay-Jay Okocha Set to Visit Maldives for Exciting Fan Events by Ooredoo

PSG football legend and former Nigeria national team player Jay-Jay Okocha is set to visit the Maldives, thanks to an invitation from Ooredoo Maldives. The telecom giant has announced a series of exciting events for fans to interact with the iconic player.

PSG is a premium partner of Qatar’s Ooredoo Group, which operates in the Maldives’ telecom sector. Partnering with PSG, Ooredoo revealed the program at a special ceremony at their headquarters. During the event, a video message from Okocha, an Olympic gold medalist with Nigeria, was shown, in which he expressed his enthusiasm for visiting the beautiful islands of the Maldives.

One of the most exciting events is the chance to play a game of futsal with Okocha. Fans can enter by commenting on the post with #PSGLegendinMV, and lucky winners will get to play futsal with the football legend. The chance to enter is open until June 10, 2024.

Okocha will also be traveling to Laamu Atoll for the Ooredoo Fun Run. Ooredoo is offering one lucky customer the opportunity to travel with Okocha to Laamu and watch a Euro quarter-final match with him.

Additionally, in partnership with PSG, Ooredoo will host a PSG Academy Football Camp for kids on July 3. Okocha will be present at the camp, where young talents from across the nation will have the chance to train with top coaches.

Jay-Jay Okocha is regarded as one of the greatest football players from Africa. During his club career, he played for PSG from 1998 to 2002, forming a memorable partnership with Brazilian legend Ronaldinho. During that period, current Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta and former Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino were also on the team.

Okocha also played in the English Premier League for Bolton Wanderers, where he won the Premier League Player of the Month award in November 2003.

The highlight of Okocha’s career is winning a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics with Nigeria, defeating star-studded Brazil and Argentina teams in the semi-finals and final, respectively. The Brazilian team featured football greats such as Ronaldo, Dida, Rivaldo, and Bebeto.

Okocha also won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994, finished as runner-up in 2000, and secured third place in 2002, 2004, and 2006. In 2004, he was awarded the best player of the tournament.
