MED hosts business briefing session for Thai Chamber of Commerce

Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on Sunday, held a briefing session for visiting members from the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Trade.

Organized jointly by the Economic Ministry with the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the session was held at Crossroads Maldives.

Objectives of the session was to provide insights into the government’s development agenda and the prospective investment opportunities that are open. A total of 170 Thai business delegates attended the session, which included top executives, traders, financiers, and CEOs from Thailand’s public and private sectors.

The business delegates are part of the Top Executive Program in Commerce and Trade (TEPCoT) – a flagship program initiated by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Thai Chamber of Commerce.

The program is an annual event, attracting business leaders from across Thailand, to harness strategic thought process and skills necessary to drive competitiveness between traders and industries.

Officials of the Maldives Economic Ministry, Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy attended the queries from visiting delegates on various aspects of commerce in the Maldives, as well as prospects of partnerships in trade and investment.
