MMPRC hosts collaborative webinar with Malaysia Airlines

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) has collaborated with Malaysia Airlines to host a virtual product seminar.

The free webinar, conducted on May 29, 2024 earlier, via Microsoft Teams, targeted approximately 100 key travel trade professionals in Japan, with the aim of solidifying MMPRC’s position in the Japanese travel market.

The event aimed to reinforce the Maldives tourism industry’s appeal as a leading tourist destination for Japanese travelers by generating positive media coverage.

The collaborative program featured presentations by the Malaysia Airlines and tourism authorities from the Maldives, Malaysia, and Thailand. Presentations focused on updates to Malaysia Airlines’ schedule and product offerings, introduction of a new daily direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to the Maldives, and special airfare promotions.

The Japanese market plays a vital role in the Maldives tourism industry, and showed a growing momentum of arrivals to the island nation, with 23,041 arrivals recorded in 2023, while a significant 9,333 visitors observed during the first four months of 2024.
