Partner and Managing Director of The Emerald Collection, Aldo Scarapicchia has proudly announced the appointment of Rohit Chhettri as the new General Manager of Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa.

Chhettri possesses a diverse and rich background in the hospitality industry with more than a decade of international luxury hospitality experience. This includes notable positions held at Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Soneva Group, Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Hilton.

Chhettri’s arrival markets a significant moment in the year of The Emerald Collection brand’s 10th anniversary and the fifth anniversary of the resort’s opening. He will be responsible for maintaining the high level of service the Maldives resort is renowned and awarded for.

The Emerald Collection, officially launched in 2013 is an Italian 5-star luxury property led by the Scarapicchia family. The group possess more than 40 years of experience in building and managing luxury all-inclusive properties in the Indian Ocean, Caribbean and East Africa.
The Emerald Collection properties are known for their distinguished natural elegance offering unforgettable stay experiences.
The jewel in the crown, for the luxury hospitality brand, is the Deluxe All-Inclusive Formula, which for all room categories always include in the cost of the guests’ stay, all meals and drinks in the resort’s bars and restaurants and the in-room minibar, fitness center, free access to non-motorized water activities, a snorkeling excursion and a boat tour for stays up to 7 nights, high-speed WiFi, and access to kids clubs.
A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Emerald Collection opened Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa in the Raa Atoll in August 2019, with the brand’s second Maldivian property; Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa on October 1, 2022.
The group recently announced expanding its property portfolio, with a late 2025 opening scheduled with Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa.
