Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has announced that the agency will grant amnesty for fines incurred on taxes paid by small- to medium- enterprises.
MIRA said that this is an addition to the current policy on amnesty for fines. Under the amnesty, SME’s will be exempted until October 27th.
The authority further noted that any business that made less that MVR 10 million in earnings annually. A significant number of SME owners had appealed to MIRA to grant some relief for the penalties levied.
MIRA had previously granted such amnesty.
