A collection center of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has been opened in Ungoofaaru Island in Raa Atoll.
The center was opened by Commissioner General of Taxation, Yazeed Mohamed and the President of the Raa Atoll Council Ali Shaheed.
The center will provide MIRA services to the region.
The Commissioner General stated that this center will provide all services at convenience and MIRA will be able to offer any assistance easily. Moreover, he also stated that MIRA’s purpose is not to make things challenging for small businesses and that they will arrange any aid that can be given within the laws and regulations of MIRA.
He also referred to the special campaign targeted at small businesses where all fines related to tax are exempted until 27th of October 2018, stating many businesses have already been released from paying these fines.
