Maldives largest trade fair “Hotel Asia Exhibition and International Culinary Challenge 2018” is to be held at Dharubaaruge next month.
The event organizer of Hotel Asia, Maldives Exhibition and Conference Services (MECS) stated that the exhibition which was previously planned to be held early September will now be held between 10th and 12th October 2018 at Dharubaaruge.
MECS stated that this is one of the largest events held in Asia, and Maldives has hosted this exhibition since year 2000. They also informed that this year, 250 Companies from 46 countries will be participating in the event, with over 2000 brands.
Moreover, Maldivian and foreign companies are set to partake in the event and will be featuring new inventions and latest marine technologies relevant to the Tourism Industry as well as products from food and beverages to, latest technologies in architecture and waste management. Furthermore, outdoor furniture designs and innovative software and security systems will also be showcased in the event.
One of the most historical events, “The international Culinary Challenge” will also be hosted at the fair. Endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), the competition is expected to display the culinary skills of hundreds of contenders’ from all over the world in front of an esteemed judge panel encompassing of celebrity chefs from around the world. Even in the last Culinary Challenge, 550 contestants participated.
The first Hotel Asia Fair hosted in Maldives was held with 60 stalls and 10 participants, however, this year, 180 stalls will be featured, represented by leading companies from countries including Australia, Canada, China, Dubai, Singapore, UK and US.
The Fair is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economic Development and Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the main sponsor is Best Buy Maldives (BBM).
The prestigious event is expected to attract thousands of visitors including resort owners and senior representatives from leading local and foreign companies.
