Maldives promotes tourism at World Travel Market in London

Key players in the tourism industry has promoted the Maldivian destination as a top tourist stop at the World Travel Market held in London, United Kingdom.

The WTM fair held from November 5, Monday til November 7, Wednesday attracted a significant delegation from the Maldives which included top industry professionals and entities at the forefront of the tourism promotion of Maldives.

The Maldivian delegate was headed by the Maldives ambassador to United Kingdom, Belgium and European Union Mr. Ahmed Shian.

While Mr. Shian acted as the delegation’s top authority, a total of 65 local corporations with 169 key industry professionals took part in the WTM which included resorts, hotels, guesthouses and elites in the industry.

Visitors were delightfully greeted with local short-eat delicacies upon their stop at stalls representing Maldives tourism, with an option of virtually experiencing the natural beauty of Maldive Islands.

In addition to this, tourism sector enthusiasts who visited Maldives’ stalls at the WTM fair were able to take part in a special lucky-draw promotion sponsored by ‘More Hotels and Resorts’ guarantees a holiday trip for the winner.

This marks the 34th time Maldives has participated in the World Travel Market and since 1984 the island nation has been participating in the event consecutively.
