The 5th MIBFI Conference scheduled for late November

The Maldives Islamic Banking and Finance Industry Conference (MIBFI) will have its fifth edition on November 27, 2018 at Hotel Jen.

The conference organized by Sri Lanka’s UTO Edu Consult found its event partners in ADL Capital Sri Lanka, Amana Takaful Maldives, Ayady Takaful, Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Women on Board (WOB), Maldives Center for Islamic Finance (MCIEF) and KPMG Maldives.

 

The key-note address will be given by the governor of Maldives Mr. Ahmed Naseer and Dr. Aishath Muneeza Naseer the chairperson of Maldives Center for Islamic Finance.

Other panelists and speakers will include credible and renowned experts in banking and financing industry.

While the MIBFI Conference’s 5th edition is drawing close, the 4th conference was held on October 4, 2017 with the primary theme “Strategizing the Maldivian Islamic Banking and Finance Industry for a better tomorrow.”

Much the like event scheduled for 2018, the previous year’s conference attracted frequenting partners such as KPMG Maldives, ADL Capital Sri Lanka, Women On Board (WOB) along with Amana Takaful Maldives.

The previous conference’s chief guest had been the then vice president Honorable Abdulla Jihad while Dr. Aishath Muneeza, associate professor of INCEIF was the conference chairperson.

Notable speakers and panelists of the 4th MIBFI conference included Abdul Haleem Abdul Latheef, finance and fund management, Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO), Ahmed Riza, COO, Maldives Islamic Bank and Ahmed Saruvash Adam, financial budget executive, fiscal affairs division of Maldives Finance and Treasury among other notable intellects in banking and financing industry of Maldives.

It is expected this year’s conference will also attract familiar faces in the industry as well.
