Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has elected Abdullah Suood as their new president.
Suood was elected the new president at MATATO’s recent association’s annual general meeting (AGM) which was held at Hotel Jen. He previously filled the responsibilities of the association’s vice president. During the General meeting, five board members were elected as well. This included Mohamed Firaag, Aminath Neena Nizar, Mohamed Haleel, Ignaz Mansoor and Hathim Hassan. The appointed treasurer of MATATO is Ahmed Fiyaz.
The former President of MATATO, Abdullah Giyay had spoken about the association’s achievements in recent years. Although Giyas stepped down from the association’s presidential responsibilities, he is now MATATO’s vice president.
Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) was founded in the year 2006 by a group of enthusiastic tour operators in the Maldives. The association has evolved over the years to be a leading non-profit organization in the country and become the forefront of Maldivian tourism industry.
