Inflation in the Maldives has risen by 1.3 percent in December 2017.
Statistics published by Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) show that in November 2017, inflation was at 0.6 percent, rising to 1.3 percent in the December.
Price increments in rents, food and tobacco contributed to this increase in inflation. However, MMA noted that price of electricity had decreased in the period.
Calculating on a month on month basis, this accounts for an increase of 0.9 percent.
