Immigration inaugurates business VISA in Addu City

Maldives Immigration has officially inaugurated their business VISA issuance in Addu City.

The service was inaugurated during a ceremony held at the international terminal of Gan International Airport. Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hussain and Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodiq were in presence at the ceremony.

Mayor Sodiq stressed on the importance of introducing the business VISA service in the city, and noted that the introduction of it will bring about new opportunities for businesses operating in the area. In addition to this, he highlighted concerns of work VISA not being issued in the region, and added that he hopes that the Immigration would work on the introduction of work VISA in the near future.

Speaking during the ceremony, Immigration Controller Hussain said that their main aim was to provide convenient services for all and to guarantee that their services and related information was easily accessible.

He also noted that business VISAs will be processed within 48 hours after application and that any information regarding this would be relayed through their social media channels. He further added that the introduction of the service in Addu comes after a great demand, and that they are actively working on introducing work VISA in the region and others in the future as well.
