Co-Load Maldives Private Limited recently donated a sum of MVR35,000 to the local NGO known as Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC).

With the help of ACE Hardware, the donation was made during a ceremony held on 6 February.

The donation was officially handed over by the General Manager – Trade of Co-Load Maldives, Mr Mohamed Haany, and received on behalf of ARC by their Managing Director, Mr Muruthala Moosa.

The former Minister of Gender, Family, and Social Services and Executive Director of ARC, Ms Zenysha Zaki stated that ARC’s work with children shelters, advocacy, and awareness campaigns were only made possible due to donations by a very caring community of generous donors, which include local business organisations.

She went on to state that the donation made by Co-Load Maldives would be used for awareness campaigns against child abuse targeting children, parents, and teachers in Malé and the atolls.

ARC was first established in 2009. It has carried out several campaigns and initiatives to protect children and create awareness regarding important issues within society.
