Ooredoo Maldives to pay dividends MVR3.22 per share

The telecommunication giant Ooredoo Maldives will be paying dividends at MVR3.22 per share for the company’s overall net profit of 2018.

At the annual general meeting of Ooredoo Maldives at Dharubaaruge on Sunday evening, the company’s shareholders coincided on paying dividends at MVR3.22 per share for 88% of last year’s net profit. The meeting was attended by a total of 109 shareholders.

Qatari-based Ooredoo Group’s telecom company based in the Maldives, Ooredoo Maldives, reached several achievements during the fiscal run of 2018.

According to Chief Executive Officer, Mr Najib Khan, the company’s initiative of integrating the digital innovation into Maldivian community was successful.

Furthermore, Mr Khan stated that the previous year was a financially beneficial one as well adding the company generated overall revenue of MVR1.9 b with net profit rising to MVR544m.

At the meeting on Sunday evening, Ooredoo Maldives had also assigned a third-party audit firm to audit the company. The telecom company tasked their auditing to KPMG, which has been auditing the company for the past two years as well.

Additionally, the company’s Chairman Mr Khalid Ibrahim al-Mahmoud retired from his position officially at the meeting as well.
