Equipment provided for Diamondback Fishing

The Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture has issued equipment required for diamondback squid fishing to seven interested parties.

The equipment was issued by the Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture Ms Zaha Waheed to those who completed the training program held regarding diamondback squid fishing.

The two day training program organized by the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture and it was open to the public. Parties interested in diamondback fishing  from different parts of Maldives participated in the event.

Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resource and Agriculture is set to issue 10 sets of equipment on an installment basis. These equipment sets cost 249,000 MVR and can be paid on a monthly basis within 5 years.

Introducing different methods of fishing is one of the 100 days pledges of the government.
