Rasfannu pavilion set to open with international franchises

The Rasfannu Pavilion built by Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) is set to open with four international franchises.

According to one of the companies that won the bid to manage the Rasfannu Pavilion – Sibco Private Limited – the 900 pax pavilion will be opened with Australia’s infamous Gloria Jean’s Coffees and three other international franchises.
While Sibco did not reveal the other three franchises, the company stated that the franchises coming to Rasfannu Pavilion will be announced in the upcoming week. According to Sibco, the franchises at Rasfannu Pavilion will be the first of its kind in the Maldives. Sibco’s official added that the franchises will include fine dining alongside fast food outlets.

“We are working to complete and open the pavilion by the end of the month,” Sibco official said.

Apart from Sibco Private Limited, Rasfannu pavilion will be managed by Silver Spoon Private Limited, who operates international franchise Manhattan Fish Market in Hulhumale’.

The three-storey pavilion constructed by Maaziya Construction will comprise entirely of restaurants, unlike the previous plan to build a shower area for beachgoers.

The capital is abuzz with excitement over the new restaurant franchises coming to town, Maldives has been seeing a rise in the franchise businesses in the recent years.

While famous South African restaurant franchise Barcelos opened its outlet in Male’ in May 2017, international franchise Mövenpick reopened an outlet in Male’ the same year.

Velana International Airport also houses an array of international restaurant franchises such as Burger King, which is also set to open a second outlet at Hulhumale’ terminal. Australian franchise The Coffee Club also operates an outlet at Velana International Airport alongside Canadian franchise restaurant, Thai Express to name a few.
