Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) says a dedicated travel trade road show for Maldives will be held in North America.
MATATO said trade show will be held in October, Chicago, New York and Miami. An exact date for the roadshow is to be announced.
The Association has opened up registrations for the roadshow. Registrations as co-exhibitor will be accepted before 3pm on March 29th.
MATATO added that participation costs US$ 7,000 for three cities. This fee will cover accommodation, airport transfer, flights within the cities as well as participation in select workshops. An additional US$ 2,800 will be charged for an additional delegated, added MATATO.
The roadshow will allow participants to network with a larger, targeted audience of tour operators and agents. United States of America (USA) accounted for 2.8 percent of arrivals, with 3,985 arrivals. Last year January, arrivals from USA was at 3,499. Comparing the two arrival figures, this is an increase of 13.8 percent.
MATATO has increased destination-marketing efforts across major countries over the past years. Presently, they are carrying out a road show in India in partnership with OTR, in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi. This road show will end of the 22nd of this month. MATATO is also to participate in the Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) from the 29th of March to the 1st of April. Registrations are also open for participants for the International Travel Expo Hong Kong, which will be held from June 14th to 17th.
