Maldives takes part in the Arabian Travel Market

The Maldives has taken part in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held in Dubai.

The fair is the largest of its kind held in the Middle East and has been attended by 133 individuals from 66 companies working in the local tourism industry.

The Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation, Mr Thoyyib Mohamed is also among those taking part.

MMPRC will also be carrying out a roadshow by the name, “Journey to the Sunny Side” at the fair. The roadshow, which is stated to be carried out in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, will commence tomorrow and will go on until Thursday.

The corporation stated that the purpose of the roadshow is to form connections with travel operators and other parties active in the Middle Eastern tourism industry.

The ATM fair has showcased more than 28,000 tourism related products and services. It has been attended by more than 39,000 visitors.

The Middle East is one of the largest growing markets for local tourism. As such, last year saw 52,114 tourists visit the Maldives from the region, which was a 7.7% increase compared to the previous year.
