Maldives Finance Minister departs to Fiji for 52nd ADB Annual Meeting

The Maldives Minister of Finance Honorable Ibrahim Ameer has departed to Fiji to attend the 52nd Annual Meeting of Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Minister Ameer was accompanied in his trip by ADB Governor for the Maldives and Chief Resource Mobilization and Debt Management Executive Ms Maryam Abdul Nasir and the ADB Alternate Governor for the Maldives in his trip.

The ADB Annual Meeting is a 5-day event which will start on 1 May and will continue until 5 May. The main venues for the annual meeting are set at Sheraton Fiji Resort Denarau Island, Nadi, Sheraton Villas Denarau Island, Nadi, The Westin Denarau Island Resort and Spa Denarau Island, Nadi, Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa Denarau Island, Nadi and at InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa Natadola Bay, Natadola.

The events include the informal preparatory meetings of Pacific developing members governors on 1 May in which discussions on ADB Strategy 2030’s operational priorities will be carried out. Meetings, seminars and networking events are scheduled on 2 May while the President’s reception will take place on the same date as well.

The official opening session for the ADB Annual Meeting will take place on 3 May with the Governor’s plenary and Governors’ roundtable set on the same day.

The event will also host a business session on 4 May.
