The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) has selected a panel of international jury members to evaluate the nominated properties.
The jury panel will be travelling to multiple cities in the region to evaluate the nominated properties and services.
The panel includes Mrs Amal Goonetilleke who is currently the CEO of The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka and has over three decades of experience in the field of tourism and hospitality, Mrs Rinku Madan a certified food writer who has worked with famed luminaries like Alan Richman. Mrs Madan was also the editor of ‘Times Nightlife Guide’ and writes weekly columns at The Economic Times, The Sunday Times and even the BBC Good Food Guide.
Also in the panel are Ms Sangeeta Rana, the Executive Director of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Bhutan and Mr Abdulla Suood who has had more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing and having worked in a major hotel chain. He has also served on the executive board of Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) before being appointed as the president of the organization.
SATA, one of the most renowned travel and tourism industry related awards in the region, has been “recognizing the best of South Asia’s hospitality and travel industry since 2016.”
The prestigious annual event witnesses some of the most high-profile individuals in the tourism industry as well as prominent and well-decorated organizations competing in multiple of categories.
The travel awards aim to encourage and raise the service standards of tourism industry within the region.
