Tourism Master Plan to be Finished in 6 Months: Tourism Minister

Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed has said tourism master plan for the next five years will be compiled in the next six months.

At the tourism master plan framework initiation event held at Dharubaaruge on 29 July, Minister said discussions with pioneers in the Maldivian hospitality industry will be held and their opinions will be taken into consideration to make the Master Plan.

The master plan framework was unveiled by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the event was attended by Vice President Faisal Naseem, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed along with a number of pioneers in the tourism industry.

Minister Ali Waheed added that the Master Plan will be finished and ready to launch in early-2020. The Master Plan will be focused on seeking the challenges and complaints in the tourism industry, in order to address and counter them effectively.

The fifth tourism master plan’s framework will pave way towards the final vision which will become effective from 2020.
