The Maldives Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture along with the loan aid of International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), through their ‘Mariculture Enterprise Development Project’ has commenced the Project Completion Review Workshop.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Maldives Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Ms Zaha Waheed.
The workshop commenced on 13 October 2019 at Maagiri Hotel, with the main program’s aim being the inception and implementation of a mariculture industry in Maldives.
According to the Ministry the Project Completion Review Workshop’s aim is to discuss and share the work that were implemented during the previous year under the ‘Maritine Enterprise Development Project.’
Moreover, the challenges and the important lessons that were acquired through the initiative will be shared with the attendees of the workshop. In addition to this, the participants of the workshop will share their experiences as well.
A total of 28 participants are attending the workshop, with priority given to individuals who are already active in the mariculture industry. Apart from them, council members of Laamu atoll Isdhoo, Kalaidhoo and Dhan’bidhoo where the projects were carried out are participating along with those involved in the sea-cucumber farming and cultivating business.
