Over 500 businessmen and entrepreneurs have participated in the 2020 edition of IFAWPCA conference.
The International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors Association (IFAWPCA) is a global organization comprised of some of the biggest names in the construction industry in the Asia and Pacific region.
The IFAWPCA 2020 Convention has been slated for 28 June, which will be taking place in the Maldives for the first time.
Maldives received the opportunity to host the 45th convention after renowned local businessman Mr Mohamed Ali Janah was elected as the federation’s 45th president.
Mr Ali Janah, is among the most sought after names in the island nation’s construction industry and he has been at the forefront of representing the industry at a national capacity as well.
The 45th IFAWPCA president paid visits to over 20 global destinations to meet with major contractors and construction industry affiliated businesses in efforts of strengthening ties.
Moreover, Mr Janah has met with international financing organizations such as Asian Development Bank (ADB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and several other groups.
The IFAWPCA president seen recently as the chief guest at the Nepal Buildtech, organized by the country’s contractors association.
The IFAWPCA 2020 Convention is set at Crossroads Maldives, with a current participation count of 512 entrepreneurs from 20 member countries.
During the major convention, a special investors conference will be running parallel which would establish corporate connections between parties for prospective projects.
Meanwhile, local construction groups and companies have been provided participation window until the end of January.
The IFAWPCA 2020 Convention will be the largest such conference attracting some of the biggest names in global investing.
