The Ministry of National Planning has contracted the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) construct Dh. Meedhoo harbor today.
The agreement to construct the harbor was signed by the Director General of Planning Ministry Fathimath Shana Faarooq signed on behalf of the government and the COO of MTCC Shahid Hussain Moosa, signed on behalf of the company.
According to MTCC, under this agreement, the construction of the harbor will consist of dredging of 15,578 cubic meters along with the construction of a 373-meter breakwater, 294 meters of quay wall, 35 meters of revetment and 1470 square meters of pavement.
In addition to that, this agreement also includes the installation of 15 harbor lights, 2 channel lights and 10 mooring blocks.
MTCC has revealed that the project is estimated to cost MVR 36.8 Million and is expected to be completed within a timeframe of 408 days.
