A survey has commenced on Monday, 27 January 2020, in order to establish a port communication network system.
The system will allow commercial harbors under the management and monitoring of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) become virtually linked with relevant government institutions and stake holders.
Moreover, the system will also allow access to the data or information of all these institutions and personnel for the perusal of MPL as well as other attached entities.
The survey is conducted by the South Asia Sub-regional Economic Corporation (SASEC), which is a organization under the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The organization will be conducting their survey from Monday until Wednesday, for a three-day period.
MPL’s Managing Director Shahid Ali noted the aim of establishing such a platform is to provide easy access of data for authorities as well as the customers.
According to MPL the virtual system will enhance submission of various queries and applications to the authority, which will greatly reduce the need for third-party platforms or even manual work.
