Transport Authority of Maldives has revised the bulk transportation hours, following several complaints and concerns from entrepreneurs and business owners.
According to the new revision, bulk transportation of goods can now be made between 1800hrs and 0600hrs.
This includes transportation of good to local warehouses and shops, transportation of construction material such as wood, steel, sand, cement, and water deliveries and services alike. Gas cylinder delivery times will remain the same as before – from 0830hrs to 1100hrs, and 1800hrs to 0600hrs.
Transport Authority’s Director General Mohamed Rafeeu stated that the goods transportation times were revised after meeting business owners and taking their concerns and opinions into careful consideration. He added that MPL will revise the goods clearance hours from the harbours according to the new regulations as well.
The bulk goods transportation hours were revised in the wake of concerns and threats by the business owners that goods prices will increase due to the difficulties businesses will face in transportation under the previously set time.
