Under the extensive work carried out to earn further public trust and approval and thorough discussions during the Cabinet meeting held on 11th February 2020, the Government of Maldives has initiated significant improvements to public services.
According to a press release by the President’s Office, spot audits were conducted for the first time ever by the President’s Office to identify the challenges in maximizing service efficiency and minimizing difficulties faced by the persons using public services.
Likewise, 54 government institutions were audited to determine the ease and effectiveness of front office and main counter services.
The results of the audit revealed room for further improvement with the implementation of technological projects. A detailed paper was shared with the Cabinet by the President’s Office which included detailed recommendations.
According to the President’s Office, relevant officials are currently working on the implementation of the new guidelines as per the Cabinet decision on the matter.
