The Male’-Hulhumale’ ferry operator, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), has amended their Hulhumale’ cargo ferry schedule to only operate during night time.
Under this amendment, trips from Male’ to Hulhumale’ will be at 0100hrs and between 1900hrs to 2200hrs. Trips from Hulhumale’ to Male’ will be between 1730hrs to 2030hrs and at 2330hrs. These timings are for all days except Fridays. On Fridays, Male’ to Hulhumale’ ferry will be at 1900hrs and Hulhumale’ to Male’ ferry will be at 1730hrs.
MTCC Hulhumale’ cargo ferry will depart from and arrive at Dhaanna Gimatha (Vilingili Ferry Link), Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Male’. While billing services are available from both Male’ and Hulhumale’, transportation bills must be paid 30 minutes before the ferry departure.
Speculations suggest that MTCC brought these scheduling amendments following bulk transport restrictions by Maldives Transport Authority.
