Bank of Maldives launches Amex promotion offering trip to Singapore Grand Prix

Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched a promotion offering its American Express Platinum credit cardholders a chance to win a trip to the FORMULA 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026. The bank announced the offer on its website and in official terms and conditions issued for the campaign.

The promotion runs from July 1 to July 30, 2026. It is open to both primary and supplementary holders of the BML American Express Platinum Credit Card and the American Express Islamic Platinum Credit Card.

Customers qualify by making a single local transaction of MVR 5,000 or more at BML point-of-sale machines or through e-commerce using the eligible card. Each qualifying transaction earns one entry into a lucky draw. Transactions at other banks' POS machines, ATM withdrawals, balance transfers, cash advances, and payments to government or financial institutions do not count.

Cardholders with a non-performing asset facility at the bank during the promotion period are not eligible. BML employees are also excluded from the draw.

One winner and a guest will be selected at the end of the promotion period. The prize includes a pair of Amex Sky Suite tickets granting three-day access to the Singapore Grand Prix, return airfare for the winner and guest, and hotel accommodation for the event.

BML said the draw will be conducted under the Shari'ah concept of Hibah, a gift given without expectation of return. If the winner holds a BML Islamic card, the bank's Islamic banking arm will cover the prize costs.

According to the terms and conditions, the winner's details will be published on the Bank of Maldives website. The bank will also attempt to contact the winner by phone. If BML cannot reach the winner within five days of the draw, it reserves the right to void the result and select an alternative winner.

Winners must submit a valid passport copy within five working days of notification or forfeit the prize. The event tickets are non-transferable and cannot be resold. The terms state that winners will have no claim against the bank if the event is delayed, postponed, or cancelled.

The terms and conditions also state that Formula One World Championship Limited, Singapore GP Pte Ltd, and American Express are not involved in organising the promotion and bear no responsibility for its execution, including the selection of winners. BML said the offer forms part of its ongoing lifestyle rewards programme for cardholders.
