Maldivian has added a King Air 360 to its fleet, becoming the first operator of the aircraft type in the Maldives.
The eight-seat aircraft is being introduced to serve the luxury tourism and corporate travel segments, expanding the national carrier’s portfolio of domestic air services.
The King Air 360 will initially provide dedicated air transfer services to Nilaa Coral Island and will also be available for private charter within the Maldives.
Maldivian said the aircraft is intended to provide direct, flexible transfers between destinations, reducing the need for connecting transfers and waiting times.
The twin-engine turboprop is designed for shorter regional journeys and premium private travel, complementing Maldivian’s existing domestic, seaplane and international operations.
Maldivian Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas said the introduction of the King Air 360 marks a new step in the airline’s premium travel offering and supports growing demand for more personalised and flexible air services in the Maldives.
Maldivian currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including an Airbus A330-200, Airbus A320, five ATR aircraft, seven Dash 8 aircraft and 11 DHC-6 Twin Otters
