More than 205,000 people visited Maldives Expo 2026 during its nine-day run at Hulhumalé Central Park, according to the Business Centre Corporation (BCC).
The expo, held from 25 October to 2 November, brought together 419 exhibitors showcasing 4,404 products across a range of business, creative and cultural sectors.
The number of products displayed increased 83.5% from 2,400 at last year’s expo, while the number of exhibitors rose from 240 to 419.
Individual creators accounted for the majority of exhibitors, with 321 participants, alongside 75 businesses. Educational institutions, associations, state-owned enterprises and organisations representing persons with disabilities also took part.
Maldives Expo 2026 was organised by the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade in collaboration with BCC under the theme “Future Maldives – Innovation, Creativity and Global Connections”.
The exhibition was organised across seven districts, including two new areas introduced this year. The Visitor Economy District provided a dedicated platform for small and medium-sized tourism businesses, while the International District showcased products and technologies from overseas participants.
Products on display covered areas including traditional handicrafts, creative arts and design, food, jewellery, fashion, fisheries, information and communications technology, tourism and renewable energy. Handicrafts accounted for the largest number of entries, with 1,695 products, followed by creative arts and design with 920.
BCC said the expo provided businesses and tourism service providers with opportunities to promote their products and services and connect with prospective customers and investors.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the expo on 25 October. The event expanded from five exhibition districts in 2025 to seven this year.
