Maldives Gas will reduce the amount of cooking gas it puts in cylinders from November 7, 2026.
The company said the temporary measure is aimed at keeping supplies available amid rising global gas prices and difficulties importing gas into the Maldives.
Under the temporary limits, the company will fill 10 kg cylinders with 7 kg of gas, 22 kg cylinders with 14 kg, and 45 kg cylinders with 31 kg.
The price per kilogram will remain unchanged. Customers will pay the existing rate for the amount of gas they receive.
Maldives Gas said it is working to improve import procedures and resolve supply difficulties so it can resume normal refills. The company said a project to expand storage capacity would allow the Maldives to hold a three-month supply of gas once completed.
