SME Digital has increased the financing limit for three of its key facilities from MVR 5 million to MVR 10 million, expanding access to financing for startups and existing small businesses.
The higher limit applies to Asset Financing, Business Expansion Financing and Vessel Financing.
Asset Financing is available to startups and existing businesses seeking to acquire fixed assets, while Business Expansion Financing targets businesses that have been operating for at least two years and are looking to make capital investments, enter new markets or expand operations.
Vessel Financing supports the purchase, construction and mechanisation of vessels, including fishing vessels, dive dhonis, sport fishing vessels and excursion vessels.
SME Digital Chief Executive Officer Badhurudheen Hassan said the increase was introduced in response to financing needs within the business community and is intended to ensure financing limits do not restrict business growth.
Applications for the facilities can be submitted through SME Digital’s SME Portal.
