The Maldives Monetary Authority has opened the FinLit Fest 2026 essay competition for students in Grades 8 to 12, with cash prizes of up to MVR 3,000. Entries must be submitted by 11:59 pm on 1 November 2026.

MMA opens FinLit Fest 2026 essay competition for students in Grades 8–12

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has opened an essay competition under FinLit Fest 2026, offering students in Grades 8 to 12 the opportunity to win cash prizes of up to MVR 3,000.

The competition will be held in two categories, with one category for students in Grades 8–10 and another for Grades 11–12. Essays must be written in English.

Participants can write on themes including financial literacy and responsible money management, financial inclusion and development, young people and the future of finance, technology and the digital future of the financial sector, and financial systems that prioritise the wellbeing and benefit of individuals and society.

Essays must be between 700 and 1,200 words, and each student may submit only one entry. Winners will have the opportunity to receive prizes of up to MVR 3,000.

The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm on 1 November 2026. Entries must be submitted by email to finlit@mma.gov.mv.
