State Trading Organization (STO) and Japanese power tools brand Makita celebrated the 25th anniversary of their partnership with a special ceremony at Kurumba Maldives Resort, where new Makita tools were officially introduced to the Maldivian market.
The event was
attended by Japanese Ambassador to the Maldives, Ishigami Rumiko, along with
STO Managing Director and CEO Shimad Ibrahim, and Makita’s Director, Corporate
Officer, and Head of International Sales Headquarters, Omoté Takashi. Guests
had the opportunity to experience the latest tools firsthand in a dedicated
demonstration zone.
Speaking at the
ceremony, STO Construction Solutions Director Mohamed Eeman reflected on the
long-standing partnership between STO and Makita, extending gratitude to
customers for their continued support. To mark the occasion, commemorative
plaques were presented to STO Makita’s top customers and long-term partners,
including Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Housing Development
Corporation (HDC), State Electric Company (STELCO), Maldives Ports Limited
(MPL), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives National
Defence Force (MNDF), Universal Hawks Private Limited, Alia Constructions
Private Limited, and SJ Constructions Private Limited.
In closing
remarks, both Ambassador Ishigami and Omoté Takashi praised the STO-Makita
partnership, noting its contributions to the development of the Maldivian
construction sector. The Ambassador further highlighted the role of the
collaboration in strengthening ties between Japan and the Maldives.
