Oefaru, Vietjet Air’s general sales agent in the Maldives, has opened applications for authorised passenger sales agents, seeking to broaden the airline’s local distribution network ahead of its planned service launch in December.
The invitation, announced on 14 October, is open to eligible businesses across the Maldives, including travel agencies, airline ticketing companies and other Maldivian-owned enterprises.
According to Oefaru, Vietjet services connecting Malé, Colombo and Ho Chi Minh City are scheduled to commence on 5 December 2026. The flights are expected to expand travel options between the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, while providing access to further destinations through the carrier’s international network.
The recruitment of passenger sales agents forms part of Oefaru’s efforts to establish wider access to Vietjet tickets across the domestic market. The company aims to develop a nationwide network of sales partners, enabling local businesses to participate in the airline’s commercial expansion in the Maldives.
Oefaru will oversee the appointment process and provide selected agents with guidance and support in accordance with Vietjet’s operating standards. Appointments will also be subject to the Maldives Civil Aviation Authority’s regulations and authorisation requirements.
Interested businesses may submit expressions of interest to [email protected]. Further information on eligibility and application procedures is available from Oefaru.
