Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has launched a series of staff awareness sessions as part of its ‘Green Airport’ initiative.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Environment, the sessions aim to enhance staff understanding of sustainability practices. The inaugural session, held in observance of the International Day of Zero Waste, focused on the theme “Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and Hazardous Waste.”
Experts from the Environment Ministry led the session, offering insights into the environmental impact of hazardous waste and sharing best practices for effective waste management. Participants also explored the role of corporate stakeholders in environmental protection and discussed industry standards for handling hazardous materials.
These awareness sessions reflect MACL’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and workplace sustainability under the ‘Green Airport’ initiative. Additional programs and activities focused on environmental conservation and awareness will continue in the coming weeks.
