Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially established Self-Service Banking ATM services in Faafu atoll Dharanboodhoo and Magoodhoo, completing its ATM network across all inhabited islands of the atoll.
The inauguration
ceremony, held today, was attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, cabinet
ministers, BML Chairperson Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed
Shareef, and senior officials of the bank.
Speaking at the
event, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef highlighted the significance
of the achievement, noting that residents of every inhabited island in Faafu
atoll now have access to 24/7 modern banking services without the need to
travel elsewhere. “We’re delighted to announce all inhabited islands in Faafu
atoll now have our state-of-the-art Self-Serving banking ATMs to serve
customers 24/7 without the need to travel to nearby islands. This is a
significant milestone for the Bank and a much-anticipated service for the
communities here. We remain committed to promoting financial inclusion across
the country,” Shareef said.
BML, the
country’s largest financial institution, continues to expand its services
nationwide. The bank currently operates 42 branches across all 20 atolls, along
with 169 Self Service Banking Centres, 228 ATMs, comprehensive Agent Banking
services, and advanced Digital Banking solutions.
With the
completion of this milestone in Faafu atoll, BML reaffirmed its ongoing
commitment to strengthen financial accessibility and convenience across the
Maldives.
